02.05.10: Stags split honours with STR
Yesterday afternoon the Scunthorpe Stags amateur sides locked horns with the Southern Track Riders’ Club in the second leg of their inter-club challenge. Their ‘C’ team produced an impressive 47-43 win whilst they were joined by the ‘A’ team in producing aggregate victories but “Speedway was the winner” according to Team Manager Richard Hollingsworth. “Whilst it is always nice to win there were forty riders out there in meaningful competition. Some will use it as part of their development; others will just be getting a buzz representing their club. Either way it is good for the riders and good for the sport.”
